Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the sndev platform, website and developer discussion forums. By registering an account or browsing sndev, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Important Beta Release (v0.9.3) Notice

sndev is currently in its active Beta Release phase. The platform, architecture documentation, code renderers are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis for early testing and developer learning. Features and database schemas may be iterated or modified without prior notice.

1. Account Registration & Security

To access certain features such as publishing Developer Insights or customizing your developer profile, you must create an account:

  • You agree to provide accurate and truthful account information during registration.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and password.
  • You agree to immediately notify us if you suspect any unauthorized access or breach of your account.
  • Accounts must belong to an individual and cannot be shared across multiple persons for deceptive leaderboard scoring.

2. Acceptable Use & Community Guidelines

sndev is a professional community for software engineers, architects, and tech enthusiasts. You agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited behaviors:

  • Malicious Code: You must not upload, share, or embed malicious scripts, viruses, trojans, or exploit payloads inside code blocks, articles, or comments.
  • Spam & Self-Promotion: You must not flood discussion feeds with commercial spam, affiliate link farms, or automated bot postings.
  • Harassment & Abuse: You must not post hate speech, defamatory content, harassment, or threats toward other developers.
  • Reverse Engineering & Attacks: You must not attempt to launch denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, scrape internal APIs at abusive rates, or bypass authentication controls.

3. User Content & Intellectual Property

You Own Your Content: You retain all intellectual property and copyright ownership of the developer insights, articles, architectural notes, and code snippets you publish on sndev.

License Granted to sndev: By publishing content publicly on sndev, you grant sndev a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, format, distribute, and index your content across the platform and search engines.

sndev Platform Property: The sndev brand, logo, original architectural diagrams,and UI design are the proprietary intellectual property of sndev and its creators.

4. Content Moderation & Account Termination

To keep the platform secure, high-quality, and constructive:

  • We reserve the right (but not the obligation) to review, edit, or remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms or our community guidelines.
  • We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or permanently terminate accounts found engaging in spamming, malicious probing, or repeated misconduct.
  • You may terminate your account at any time by requesting deletion as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE AT ALL TIMES DURING THE BETA RELEASE.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall sndev, its operators, founders (Supratim Nag), team members, or hosting providers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or service downtime arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the platform.

7. Changes to These Terms

As sndev evolves from Beta (v0.9.3) toward General Availability (v1.0.0), we may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the platform after any such revisions constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
